Let The Publishing Journey Begin

It’s been a long time since I had to introduce myself, my other blog is five years old. Practically ancient in blog years when you think about how many blogs are littered in the online cemetery.

But here I am, five years on, adding to my stress levels by starting a new blog. Why? Because 2017 is the year I publish my first book. And while the first one is non-fiction and will technically be launched on my other site, the rest of my books are fiction, and it just didn’t seem right to mix the two.

So who am I?

I’m Sacha Black. Cut me, and I bleed words. Do a post-mortem on me, and you’d find a cocktail of the following:

  • 25% Sarcasm
  • 25% Bad words
  • 25% Other words
  • 25% Coffee
  • 25% Gym related endorphins
  • 25% Philosophy and curiosity (and yes I know this doesn’t add up to 100! :p)

I’m a writer, reader of books, breaker of rules, maker of food, looker afterer of small humans (singular, one terror tot aged 3) and a wife. I live, breathe and sleep writing. It is more than my everything, and I won’t rest until I can write full time.

I stopped aging at 16, although I’m several years past that…*cough* I’m the sort of girl your parents raised an eyebrow at if u took me home and befriended me.

I don’t lie, ever. I’m brutally blunt; I have a strong aversion to people, seeking refuge in late nights and my MacBook. I’m often mistaken as an extrovert because I think aloud. But you can be assured I’m socially awkward.

I founded the Bloggers Bash along with my awesome committee: Ali, Geoff, and Hugh. If you don’t know what that is, you should. It’s an annual get-together for bloggers of all kinds, from any platform, in London, every summer. You should come.

*waves* Hi world!

I write YA fantasy and dystopian fiction with a hint of love thrown in for good measure, as well as non-fiction writing craft books, the first of which is called 13 Steps to Evil – How to Craft Superbad Villains.

Stick around and on this blog, you’ll find: my book launches, as well as updates on my book publishing progress, book reviews, photography, stuff about me and who I am, fiction related chattering, and the odd post based on where I find my inspiration, which could be anything from beautiful imagery and photography to bizarre conspiracies.

    1. aww, thanks so much, I mean it’s just a little site atm, but over time I hope I can get lots of content on it ๐Ÿ˜€ thank you for your support.

  1. Good god you’re a masochist! Best of luck with this venture. Hope the old Black Brain doesn’t flip itself off one day and stay in its PJs sulking from the stress. But of course you can cope. You’re superwoman with more half life than irradiated kryptonite. We’re all behind you – quite a long way admittedly – and waving frantically though at this distance it will look to you like a gerbil fluttering its eyelashes on Mars. And one small correction. You founded the Bash and invited we three muffins along for the ride. Don’t be so modest. After all there’s no way you’re blaming us for your folly.

    1. LOL. I know right. I really am. What the hell is wrong with me?! Pahahaha flip itself off! hilarious. In fact, this entire comment made me LOL. Thank you for being so wonderfully supportive. And now I shall go back to being mean and horrible as all that slushy has made me feel a bit queasy :p

    1. aww thank you Judy – just seen your writespiration – got to hope over and read it asap ๐Ÿ™‚ love that they are back ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. &)*(ยฃ%(*^ยฃ$@%^ KNEW there was something I’d forgotten – totally rectified that. Thank you for always having such a wonderful eye for detail <3

      How's the new home?

      1. Your new site in its infinite wisdom omitted half of what I said (probably my fault for making it look like code). ๐Ÿ™‚

What I was trying to say was:

Wheeee! (spins around on the pristine dance floor)

Which I admit doesn’t make a great deal more sense.

        The new site looks great!

        1. Oh man. I need to scald it. Tell it to sort it’s life out. Clearly it is still a newbie, that or it thinks it’s too cool for school! Thank you – I mean, mostly it’s identical to the other one. But shortly – once I get book covers sorted it won’t be! I’ll change the look of them both!

    1. SEANNNNNNN!!!!!!!!! HOW ARE YOU? Happy New Year. Thank you for stopping in. How are your books coming along? Did you have a nice break?

      1. I took a little break over the holidays to recharge, and now I’m hunkered down for a productive new year, aiming to get my manuscript fully revised in the next month. It’s always a challenge, as I’m sure I don’t need to tell you, to balance writing and blogging and, ya know, life, but I take a lot of encouragement and support from our “little” blogging community. Looking forward to sharing more stories and experiences together in 2017…

  2. Congrats my friend! Now you’ll be more busy, lol. Is there such a thing? ๐Ÿ™‚ xo And no ‘likes’ ? No auto follow? This is not WordPress? LOL

    1. So, I think I sorted that now. I’d taken it for granted because the other website had that set up when it transferred – I didn’t realise you had to enable it. Hopefully, that’s done now. I’m already a bit like WTF have I done! But it’s too bloody late now! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ :p hahaha

  3. Happy New Year, Sacha and all the best with the new blog and the new book. Yours was one of the first blogs I discovered that I really, really liked. I suspect I will like this one just as much.

    1. Cannot tell you how much it means to hear you say that Robbie. Thank you so much. I hope you are also having a wonderful new year ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. hehe, thank you Hugh. Going to read your book in a couple of weeks – got some ARC ones I have to do first, then I am on it and so playing your comp too ๐Ÿ˜€

  4. Reading this took me back to our time at UHSU – you were a wonderful, inspirational, bundle of energy -like a puppy discovering life! A proud wearer of your heart on your sleeve and a generally amazing woman! I can still recall your laugh – a true belly laugh that erupted from the soles of your feet! I loved your internal and external self wranglings – you could argue quite happily (and sometimes quite miserably! )with yourself – something that always made me smile – you always came to the right conclusion for you in the end! Keep being amazing and wonderful! J xx

    1. Hi Joanne, what a lovely message to find ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ <3 how are you? haha, I have the same laugh! You're hilarious, I haven't changed at all. I was just saying to someone yesterday how much I loved a debate :p

      Are you still up North?

    1. It’s not published yet! Lol. Keepers the fiction book (which is part of this website) will be out later in the year, just building an audience for now ๐Ÿ™‚

        1. Lol, well the fact you were excited made my day ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ SIGH one day, ONE FREAKING DAY it will be my turn, but not today sadly ๐Ÿ˜ข
